A private station hut which needs to be booked.

Location: Glen Lyon Station, Dobson Valley (near Twizel).

Access: We used the 4WD for this one but it is walkable. Probably a little further than others on this site (about 13km I think). Farmland/river bed. Depending on conditions there is a high level route or just stick to the river. May have to negotiate farm animals.

Hut: An older musterer’s hut which is reasonably clean and tidy. Open fire that was a bit hard to get any warmth from. Bunks/mattresses are a bit rough but fine. The main reason for including this hut on the website is that it needs to be booked – thus you can guarantee having the hut to yourself.
